Getting Started

Get up and running with co-Editor in under a minute. Sign in with your Google account, and you'll land in the editor with a blank document ready to go.

4. Start typing — everything saves automatically
TipAll your documents are auto-saved to the cloud. No need to press Ctrl+S.

Editor Basics

co-Editor features a clean, distraction-free editor with full rich-text formatting. The toolbar at the top gives you access to all formatting options.

Headings: Choose from H1, H2, or H3 for document structure
Text styles: Bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough
Lists: Bullet lists and numbered lists
Media: Insert images via drag & drop, paste, or the toolbar button
Links: Highlight text and click the link button to add URLs
TipUse Ctrl+B for bold, Ctrl+I for italic, and Ctrl+U for underline.

AI Text Editing

Select any passage of text to open the AI editing popup. Choose from preset actions or type a custom instruction. The AI will process your text and show the result with a green highlight so you can review changes.

1. Select text in the editor
2. Click an AI action: Rewrite, Expand, Shorten, or Fix Grammar
3. Or type your own custom instruction
4. Review the changes highlighted in green
5. Continue editing — the highlight fades after a few seconds
TipYou can undo any AI edit with Ctrl+Z just like a normal edit.

AI Chat Assistant

Open the chat sidebar to have a conversation with AI about your document. The assistant can read your entire document, answer questions, suggest improvements, and even make direct edits.

1. Click the chat icon in the top-right to open the sidebar
2. Type your question or instruction
3. The AI reads your document and responds
4. Ask follow-up questions to refine the result
5. The agent can edit your document directly when asked

Import & Export

Bring in your existing work or take your finished documents wherever you need them. co-Editor supports importing from DOCX and Markdown files, and exporting to multiple formats.

Folders & Organization

Keep your documents organized with a folder system similar to a file explorer. Create nested folders, move documents between them, and quickly find what you need.

1. Click "New folder" in the sidebar to create a folder
2. Drag documents into folders to organize them
3. Use nested folders for complex projects
4. Right-click to rename or delete folders

Settings & Plans

Manage your profile, view usage statistics, and upgrade your plan from the profile page. co-Editor offers Free, Pro, and Unlimited plans to match your needs.

1. Click your avatar in the header в†' Settings
2. View your profile info and usage statistics
3. Go to the Subscription tab to see available plans
4. Upgrade to Pro or Unlimited for more AI requests
5. Track your monthly AI usage in real-time

PDF: Best for sharing and printing — preserves all formatting, images, and layout exactly as you see it
DOCX: Best for editing in Microsoft Word or Google Docs — maintains headings, lists, and text styles
HTML: Best for web publishing — outputs clean HTML with all formatting preserved
Markdown: Best for developers and technical writing — converts to clean Markdown syntax
TXT: Best for plain text needs — strips all formatting, keeps only the text content
TipPDF is the safest choice if you want the document to look the same everywhere.
